About Our Hosts & Instructors

Title

Since early childhood, Atim has long been an activist for the Sustainability Movement working as both a land steward and tiny-home builder for 15+ years. Adapting community-based living as his direction, he found joy in community-building by applying new and innovative practices of sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly building methods for the greater good of both individuals and the Planet. During his time living in Hawaii, Atim crossed paths with Hajjar Gibran, a designer and pioneer of sustainable dome homes and founder of DomeGaia - and quickly awakened to the urgency of sharing a new building technology with people everywhere. Soon after, Atim found his calling and stepped away from traditional brick/stick-and-mortar methods of architecture to using aircrete and learning under Ignacio Acuna, a Domegaia instructor. There is a need for building methods that are fireproof and able to withstand a changing eco-system. Aircrete domes are an answer to a more sustainable, healthy, and happy community. Atim recently joined forces with his partner Megan, another skilled Aircrete builder, to help create more EcoVillages!

You can see more of his work on Instagram

@etdomehome

Megan learned how to build with aircrete in Australia where she started The Art of Domes, running hands-on workshops across the country. She returned to the US and started Airy Fairy Sanctuaries to continue to spread her knowledge of aircrete. Megan is proof that you don’t need a traditional construction background to learn how to build your own home. She is passionate about creating systems and training that make homebuilding approachable for ordinary people. Her workshops focus on real-world skills, empowering people to confidently create their own homes, studios, garden buildings, and alternative structures using lightweight, insulating aircrete technology.

In addition to teaching workshops, Megan has designed and built aircrete domes and structures for clients, combining practical construction techniques with innovative design. She, along with her partner, Atim, have created a resource to bring sustainable builders together, to make creating a sustainable community more accessible.
